Today was a very lazy day, primarily because we took Paul's brother to the airport at 04:30 a.m. so the rest of the day ensued with a mix of naps, TV time, and lazing time. We did get in one laundry session and one washing-up session though. So that wasn't too bad. I'm off from work for a week so I'm making the most of the free time.
Christmas celebrations have come to a close, though lots of left-over food remains. Paul's family stayed with us for 5 days and it was fun having people around the house, especially when two of them are 5 and 8 years old!
Our house was a flurry of activity on Christmas Eve as we had friends over from 8:00 p.m. onwards. We invited people from different groups who didn't all know each other but it was a good evening with the last people leaving at about 1:30 a.m. There was plenty of food and champagne at midnight and it was a great way to see in Christmas Day 2010.
Christmas Day was obviously a feast of indulgence, and presents didn't go amiss either. We received some items for the house as 'joint' presents, and I'm waiting patiently for my Kindle to arrive (it's going to take about 3 weeks; although I did receive the European adaptor today!) That's Paul's present to me, while tomorrow we're going to buy my present to him which is the upgrade to the BlackBerry Torch from his present BB.
Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas. :) I wish I would have taken off this whole week as well, but I am trying to make the most of it at work!

Ooh so you decided to get a Kindle after all? What was the reason behind needing to get it from .com instead of .co.uk? I ask because mother-in-law would like one and although I knew we couldn't buy it for her, I couldn't explain why!
ReplyDeleteIt's because of the IP address. Any European purchases have to be done from .com and they will know if you're not in UK so even if you buy it from UK you'll somehow be transfered to .com and will have to buy books from .com

Mine should be arriving in about 2 weeks time :)
