Street Music

We heard the sounds of music outside our window this afternoon. Accordion music to be precise. So I go to take a look (obviously) and I find these people walking along the streets playing their accordions and asking for donations. I threw them a coin since I took a photo of them. I can't imagine that they made too much money but it was an interesting venture.

We're now listening to various bangs and bombs which are lighting up the sky in the colourful form of fireworks as there's the feast of the neighbouring town.

Floral Decisions

Wow today was one of those days at work. Meetings and decisions and a whole lot more. But hopefully we'll be seeing the end result soon.

After work we went to meet a couple who are getting married on the same day and in the same church as we are. We've got a morning wedding and theirs is an evening wedding, so we're going to be sharing the church flowers. They're very laid back about what they want and I liked the ideas that they had too so it's all working out very nicely. They're a really great couple and we get along so that obviously helps a lot and hey, saving money is not something to turn your nose up at when planning a wedding!

Refreshed

After a nap, a washing up session and some dinner I'm feeling a lot better. I don't know whether the washing up had anything to do with it, yet I do find cleaning quite therapeutic at times. Unfortunately I missed Zumba because of my headache. I really wanted to go but the thought of having to drive there and then have an hour of Zumba made my head throb that little bit more.

P had his summer work event today so I conjured up my own dinner which consisted of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. It's a combination that I've heard about before but had never actually tried because the thought of the two together never quite convinced me. But this evening I decided to give it a shot and it is surprisingly good! It's also something that I can cook when I'm cooking for 1 since P likes neither eggs nor fish.

In a couple of months there's going to be less than a year to go to the wedding and I realise that for many of you out there that's a really long time; however, in Malta we tend to plan in advance. And we're not the worst out there at all! There are couples who plan 3-4 years in advance which I think is a bit insane. However, we're planning and booking and deciding and it's all going well and is proving to be lots of fun so expect some wedding-planning related posts in the near future.

Change of Clothes

Do you read blog posts via a reader or do you go on the actual blog site?

The reason I ask is that I've got a lovely new header and design and if you're reading this via a reader then you're going to miss it!! I wouldn't like for you to miss it because I'd really like to know what you think about my new header.

And now that I've done this I need some proper content. Unfortunately, my head has chosen this moment to start throbbing - too much time in front of a computer screen methinks - so I'm going to take a break and wait for your lovely comments - and don't forget to include your blog URL so that I can visit you!

Welcome August

Welcome to the 8th month of the year!

Typically known as the hottest month in Malta, August is already with us. I know that it's an oft repeated cliche but time sure does seem to be flying and with each day that passes the wedding looms closer and what seemed to be ages away and with plenty of time to book and prepare things, now it's not looking that far off!

However, I have good vibes for August. I feel that it's going to be a good month and I intend to make the most of it. I've also got a couple of blog posts that I need to write about a couple of events so there's something to look forward to ;)
