One Act Play

We had out first performance yesterday evening and we kicked ass! Everyone was impressed by the play as a script (thank you Mark Ravenhill) and by the actors who managed to portray such adult emotions (these teens have talent!) Tomorrow is Judgement Day and I hope that we get some good feedback. I enjoyed the second play too although a lot of people didn't, and the third one was just so funny. A real sitcom piece! And the actors were great too, the majority of them already having some experience which helps.

Tonight we're off to LOL Productions for the stand-up comedy show. Should be a laugh... well I hope it is anyway given that it's stand-up comedy!

I'm currently working the afternoon shift at SJ Cav. It's quiet-ish but there's an exhibition of Debbie CD which is drawing in people. Her work is lovely, but I can't afford it :/ Can barely even afford a print!!

And it's already the end of September! We're entering Quarter 4 which seems likely to be somewhat active.

Production Week

Production Week has started. And it started with a bang! We had our technical rehearsal today and I was at the club rooms from 17:00 - 21:45! Can anyone say Shattered?!

The play is great and I'm really looking forward to seeing the audience's reaction because it's an 'adult' play with a teenage cast who are doing an amazing job and who have a lot on their plates to deal with when it comes to character interpretation. I just hope that the technical stuff runs smoothly!

The way things turn out

It's a strange feeling to know that tonight I'm meant to be going abroad and that there's a ticket in my name and I'm not going to be using it! However I don't feel bad or bitter about it at all. I think I would have been a lot more apprehensive had I actually been packing at the moment. I tried to see if I could postpone the Malta-Madrid flight but apparently Vueling will not be flying this route anymore as from the end of the month so I didn't really have much of an option.

In other news... I have new shoes bought for Clare's wedding :) So I pretty much have everything settled. All that's left to get are the earrings and possible bracelet.

I really plan on chilling this weekend. It's already been a great one so far, now this afternoon I just need to clean my room and then it's rehearsals and fenkata tonight. Tomorrow rehearsals at lunchtime and then there are meant to be thunderstorms so it's a DVD & dips afternoon/evening :)

Long Weekend

Another start to another week, only this time starting off with a Public Holiday which is very nice :)

It's been a good weekend which included the MADC GG4 at The Limestone Heritage which was fun and a Wii party with my departmental colleagues yesterday which was hilarious! I now definitely want a Wii! In fact the plan was to buy one in Lanzarote but because of recent events I will not actually be going. It's actually a relief because having to spend an entire week with someone in awkward circumstances was not something that I was looking forward to! It would have been a nice end-of-summer break but anyway... So now I need to contact the airlines and see if there's any chance of recuperating some of the costs of the tickets. I doubt it to be honest but it's worth a shot!

Due to the cancellation of the trip I'm going to be Assistant Producer in Pia's One Act Play so I'm looking forward to that. I meet the cast on Wednesday and see what she needs me to do! At least I would have done some theatre this year. There's also the possibility that I will be helping with More Four Play so we'll see what happens.

I just came back from lunch at Paparazzi with my mother and brother because it's my mother's birthday today :) It was nice but way too hot and too many flies!! It's a pity that Wigi's was closed because we wanted to go there, plus it's literally down the stairs which is very convenient! Now I need to take a shower and wash my hair, and I am going to start watching Season 1 of '24' - I've never watched any of these popular series before so I'm a newbie! -- no spoilers please! --

The end is the beginning

Another week almost coming to an end, and September has started. Sometimes I really do wonder where the days go! This week I had Monday and Tuesday evening off which was good because sometimes I need to just be at home and veg, which usually means that I'm doing stuff anyway!

Suckling Pig Night
Whereas yesterday evening I had a Suckling Pig night on the roof of SJ Cav which was lovely! The view from up there is amazing and there was a very pleasant breeze. There was all the SJ Cav & Inspirations staff and some partner, board members, etc so we were quite a large group. The food was gorgeous - very tender stuffed pig and roast potatoes... mmmm!! And the company was very nice too - we're a great team here so we had a laugh. It's good to be able to socialize with colleagues in a different setting. Definitely a successful staff party!

Lanzarote
Just 10 days until I go abroad, and this time I'm not really looking forward to it! :-/ I'm looking forward to the relaxing, tanning and shopping... but whereas before it was mostly about the company, I can't say the same thing is happening now. In a nutshell because I don't want to delve into messy and complicated details, I told The Man that him and I are no more (not that we 'were' ever but you get the point) but since everything was booked I'm still going. So we're going to attempt the friends thing and see how that works. I reckon it's going to be awkward but I'll try and have some faith.

Other News
In other news, I've had a couple of work dinners, an extremely successful school reunion, a couple of drinks out and work is still going well :) Got praise from the director today so was very happy - these little things give you that added boost.

Am currently at SJ Cav because we're back to full days, thankfully so I can fit it around my schedule. I realised that I like being here those couple of days a week. I was contemplating stopping now that I have a good full time job but I think I'd miss it. If I work a couple of shifts a week I think it will suffice, the bit of extra money always helps and I'll keep in contact and hopefully also get to watch some more shows again (like last season :).)
