Shattered

Wow what a day! It was go go go from the morning, starting with doing the laundry at 8:15 a.m. before work and didn't stop until 9:00 p.m. I think it's fair to say that I'm pretty shattered.

I woke up this morning in one of those moments where you have absolutely no idea what day it is! It could have been a Sunday for all I knew. I was totally flummoxed.

I get the feeling that tomorrow is also going to be quite a tiring day and I have a lesson in the evening. I did my HW of a costing topic which I understood perfectly well but when it comes to shares and debentures (which is financial) I'm rather muddled. I hope it's not a favourite topic of the examination board!

Next week I get my new specs :) I go for my eye test on Tuesday so that they can fit in new lenses according to that prescription. I'm not sure whether it actually changed or not because I still see very clearly from my current specs but since it's been a while since I tested them I'd rather be sure and this is the perfect opportunity.

I need to book my massage now that I have it before the pain in my neck gets any worse. I think I ought to get a doctor's certificate for my neck and 'force' them to buy me a new chair that is suitable for the work that I do. It's a good thing that I go to buy the paper every day because at least I get out for 10 minutes and walk around. Today I didn't even have chance to take my break and had to eat at my desk, which, I hate doing, and I'm not actually meant to, but I couldn't afford to waste the time away from the computer and I wasn't not going to have lunch because I knew that I wasn't going to be home until the evening. So, fuck it!

Always on the go

I'm currently at work at SJ Cav. It's been such a busy busy week - chosen in a way because I'm giving in more availability than I was so I'm working more.

Yesterday there was Festa over here which was a celebration of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue so we had various events happening in the evening such as music recitals, Flamenco, Tango and Salsa classes, food halls with foods from various places, ethnic music, etc. The place was really buzzing with people, many of them foreign who live in Malta, people from the Chinese community, Indian community - people from embassies too apparently I later found out! I spoke to everyone in the same way and treated everyone the same, except for Eddie when he came to watch Renzo and the band performing some ethnic sounds. He got to go in before the others. Hehe.

Was meant to be working till midnight but by 23:30 everyone had pretty much left so we could leave too. And then I had a birthday to go to in PV. I haven't been to PV on a weekend in absolutely ages and it was just very weird. We went to Coconut and there were all these very weird people around; one in particular was either a very very ugly girl, or a very disturbed guy. Still unsure. But it's really changed from when we'd go out and just meet so many people around and know the majority of the people there. Apart from the group that I was with I knew nobody! They then moved on to Sabor - *retch* - what a dire place! At one point I got smacked on the head by someone's hand! Helloooo?! At 2:30 I decided to make a move, I had been out for a good 16 hours and really felt that I deserved to rest my head. Sleep proved to be very good.

Today I had a hairdresser appointment and then came to work - but first stopped at the M&S Food Hall and bought a sandwich, a bag of nuts and dried fruit, a chocolate and a yummy Sparkling Orange drink. I'm here till 21:00 so I need the sustenance :) And I always have M&S when I'm working on a Saturday - it's a comforting routine.

I think tonight I will chill at home and watch a movie since tomorrow is the BIG DAY! :) I'm looking forward to just hanging out on a Sunday afternoon with friends, no big plans or anything... just take it as it comes. And then I'm off on Monday which is great!

Three days left until my birthday. 26! According to my mother it's the beginning of the best years of my life, until I'm 50. I'm not sure what kind of change there's going to be from Sunday to Monday, except that on this particular Monday I'm going to be off work... just in case I'm nursing a hangover! Hehe. But I am actually looking forward to turning 26 in a way. I wasn't too sure about it for a while but I think this could be a very positive thing. I'll milk it for all its worth in any case.

I've actually already got quite a few presents which is pretty cool :)

I got my Benetton bag from Niki (in January!), I got a yummy chocolate lip balm and suitcase tag from Kle, trousers from my brother, a webcam from my other brother and an inherited tea set from my nanna. The Casino also sent me a buy-one-get-one-free meal :)

I've chosen my new specs which are a present from my father, but I have to do an eye test first. According to Matt the pair I chose are the last ones on the island! So I told him that they cannot sell them to anyone but me! They're very different to what I have now. It's a bronze metal half frame, quite delicate and unobtrusive on the face, and the arm isn't too thin or thick and is also on browns. They're lovely :)

And another of my presents will probably be confirmed during April when I see whether to book my flight to Lanzarote. The flight is the present, not the island! :P

Aaaah I spent about an hour streaming a film, Juno, which I watched about three quarters of and then I paused it... and I lost it! Gah! Will continue in the weekend I guess.

Really cool film though, definitely need to see the ending hehe. If I didn't have work tomorrow I might actually have waited for it to stream again but I can't survive too many late nights, plus tomorrow evening I have work at SJ Cav and after that I have a birthday do so I really need to get some rest.

Mmmm, I have Dr Pepper... probably not such a good idea to drink a can just before I go to sleep... ah well.

17 days until my birthday... still unsure about what I'm going to do. It falls on a Sunday so I reckon it'll be an afternoon thing. We'll see... if you want to give me a present, I'm asking for services this year ;) Not sexual ones thanks! Facials, pedis, manis, massages... that kind of stuff. I don't really need anything at the moment... well I need new car tyres but I don't think I'll be getting those as a birthday present although it would be cool! Hehe. But I don't actually need stuff, but I do need some pampering. By the way, I'm not actually expecting any presents, but I just thought that I'd let you know purely for informative reasons.

It's past midnight, I'm off to bed. Good night!

First entry from my new PeaSea

My first entry from my brand spanking new puter - MSI Protek 600 :)

Had it all set up this afternoon though there are still a couple of things to be done, such as install Office and sort out my mic cos I can't speak on Skype otherwise. But it's here and I'm very happy with it! My brother is buying me a webcam for my birthday so that's a nice addition too.

My very first computer that is all mine and actually came as a set. Previously all my computers/notebooks have been on loan from my brother or else put together by him from bits and pieces that he would have had. It is very handy when you know how to build a PC from scratch, I must say. But it's nice to have a brand new toy.

I still have to transfer all my music and photos from the old hard drive on to this one so at the moment I have no tunes to listen to.

I was meant to revise my Accounts today which I started doing but then the PC setup got in the way, and this was after I took my afternoon nap. I got home from working at 22:30 yesterday evening and then had work again this morning so I was understandably enough, rather exhausted and one night's sleep just didn't cut it. I will attempt to continue tomorrow :)

However I did get to watch Laughing Wild since I was working in the evening yesterday, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Some parts were hilarious, others more poignant, but as a whole I found it excellent. There's also Mercury Fur and Glorious to look out for this month. Hopefully I'll get to see them too.
