Always the bridesmaid

The One Acts are now over... sad really cos it was such a great festival and I just enjoyed the social experience of it all :) Our play got some great reviews so I'm really happy about that and I was nominated for Most Promising Actress (second year running) and we were also nominated for Best Production so it was very encouraging. I'm also known as Boobi now thanks to Izzy!

My hott camera arrived yesterday so I've had fun messing about with the settings and taking random shots. I need to buy a memory card now (possibly 2). Anyway expect posts with photos muhahahaha

I'm also currently at work. I've began a part-time job in the evenings because I am a workaholic and need to occupy my time. It's my friend's company so it's basically just me and him working at the moment. Well, currently just me in the office. Yje only problem with working so many hours is that I need to find time to wash my hair! But it's also helped me because I am making it a point to wake up 15 minutes earlier than usual to do stuff at home which means that I manage to leave earlier and avoid traffic *woo hoo*

One-Act Plays Festival 2006

One week to go until the One Act Plays Festival kicks off with the first three plays. We're not on until Friday and then again on Sunday, yet still the last ones of the night. More time to let the butterflies breed eh? Actually yesterday we had an audience consisting of people who were waiting for their rehearsals to begin, Maltagirl included!

Been rehearsing every afternoon and after a day at work it's very tiring. Then I get caught on the net chatting away and I never get to sleep as early as I originally intend to. I still get a good night's sleep, but sometimes you just want a bit more ya know? ;)

This past week I've been meaning to get up earlier than usual in order to leave the house earlier than usual, but I only managed today and still didn't succeed in my endeavour. I need to get a postal order done, but the post office closes at 12:30; however, they do open at 07:30 (ajma hej!) so I thought 'OK, we can do this' and today I was out of the house at about 7:45 and the traffic was terrible. I was aiming for the St.Julians post office, but after being caught behind some stupid car pool, I saw a line of trucks and other vehicles, and decided 'Nah, we'll go to the Gzira one' but lo and behold, as I got there I was diverted by a masculine woman warden because a crane was blocking the road. Since I don't know my way around the Gzira streets, and it was already 08:20 (work begins at 08:30 roughly) I went straight to the office... and failed in my mission. But I think I shall forego the post office and just get a bank transfer done, which is probably easier.

And all this is for my long-awaited and much longed for digital camera which I bid for on eBay :) Ain't she hott?! I had to buy one before I go to Germany. But I now need to actually save for the trip!

Ghandi pjacir, jiena Phylisienne Sciriha

I'm better :) woo hoo! Seems like it was some 24-hour thing, or else the virus just couldn't handle me. I still didn't go to work today though cos I wasn't sure in what state I was going to wake up and how I'd feel during the day, but since I was ok I decided to be a domestic diva and get through the laundry, the dishes, the sweeping, and the new car mats :)

Rehearsals were called for the afternoon and we now have a script. I like my character she's a hippy, substance-loving woman. My bong is to make its first stage appearance albeit without realising its full potential.

So on Saturday, we went up to Gozo for the afternoon and night. It began with lounging on the sofas talking about sex-related things, when a female someone goes "Food is more important than sex", to which a male someone responds "Igifieri nkunu go nofs wahda u tghidli 'stenn mur gibli bicca tigiega'?!" and that brought the house down. It was so random, it was hilarious! Then we had a BBQ which was very nice. And after that we all went to prepare ourselves for a party within the farmhouse which had a hamalla theme. And practically everyone went way out to look as vile as possible. I wore jeans, then layered a pink top over an orange one and had a chunky gold necklace with coloured glass beads, and purple flip-flops. I had pastel eye-shadow, rouge, red lipstick, black eyeliner; my hair was tied at the top of my head with a flower and a gold hairband and gold loop earring with diamantes to complete the look! Top marks had to go to Lucy though for her leopard-skin dress over a red bra and huge black sunglasses with gold at the side, plus yellow flowery flip-flops and... a squeegee! The guys also made an effort with tightish beige shorts, open shirt, gold necklaces, an 'I <3 Ommok' on their arm and gelled hair. Some accessorized with a gabbietta! I'm waiting for the photos to arrive in my Inbox sometime soon.

Back to work tomorrow; let's see what Tuesday's TimeWaster is ;)

Little Miss Pukey

I puked 5 times this morning in the space of 2 hours. Whatever it is that's eating my insides doesn't like anything stronger than water. But is being considerate and not making me feel so bad actually as long as I keep to the rules and stick to water.

10:45 a.m. - (Puke 1) consisted of tea in a toilet in a Gozo farmhouse
11:30 p.m. - (Puke 2) consisted of tea and toast at a Gozitan street corner just thought I'd leave my mark
11:55 p.m. - (Puke 3) consisted of a very little tea into a tissue handed to me by a man in the lift of the Gozo Ferry
12:15 p.m. - (Puke 4) consisted of Sprite into a disposable glass on the Gozo Ferry having just docked in MaltaI managed to fill the glass up! I should have got a refund for my drink
13:00 - (Puke 5) consisted of whatever remnants where in my stomach into another disposable cup which I took with me for the car journey, just in case, in Bahar ic-Caghaq where I had my car

I got home ok, and went straight to bed and slept. We'll see what happens...
