Most important news of the week - I have a car :) It's a Fiat Tipo, obviously second-hand but in good condition with a funky digital dashboard. This morning I went to buy a steering wheel cover and a new gear knob and cover because they were rather worn, and next week it's going to get valeted and polished, and serviced. And because we're in Malta I already got a puncture! But it's good to be mobile again.

In other news I gave my presentation on blogging and bloggers, and once I had the floor didn't stop talking. I don't stop talking in regular situations, can you imagine when people are forced to listen? *muhahaha* It went well although now I have to complete the actual written assignment and make it a bit more relevant to Malta. So thank you to all those who contributed to my education :)

The weather had better stabilise itself soon because I switched wardrobes this afternoon, which meant about an hour of ironing, the most boringly awful chore that was ever invented, and then trying to swap places of my clothes. Bye bye boring woollens, hallo glorious summer tops.

Now I know why I didn't go out tonight. It's barely midnight and I'm yawning! How sweet my hairdresser told me that I look good even though I'm stressed... gay men say the best things.

Number game

My mother went to book tickets for Two which we shall be going to watch on Sunday :)

So she goes to St. James and asks to book tickets to see this weekend's play.
The woman behind the counter asks, "Two?" [referring to the name of the play]
And my mother, goes, "No, five"! [referring to the number of tickets!!]

Saturdays don't start before 11:00 a.m.

Ignoring the pounding head this morning after last night's partying, I forced myself out of bed and to the bank where I had to deposit the mounding piles of money that were being stored underneath my mattress because sleeping was becoming uncomfortable... ok strike that, not the pounding head part, just the mounding piles of money part. It was a bit of money that I had to go and deposit.

That done I wandered aimlessly in the Balluta sunshine and found myself at the supermarket. I then proceeded to wander around the supermarket feeling incredibly dazed and confused trying to balance my purchases in my arm cos I failed to take a basket on the way in. Eventually I spied one hiding underneath the checkout counter and nicked it, dropping half my items inside it and the other half on the floor, in the process dicovering a new system to make fizzy water.

My absolute favourite aisle in the supermarket is the toiletries one, where you have all these products in colours of green, blue and white, with some splash thrown in for effect here and there, promising you clear skin, no wrinkles, relaxing remedies, odourless pits, scrubs for every part of your body including those that you didn't think needed scrubbing and wonders to keep you occupied in the bathroom for hours. So I'm standing there staring at the shelves with my mouth slightly open (due to my dazed and confused state) wondering what I don't need but want.

I fix my eyes on shower gel because I'm sure that mine is going to finish soon (like in a month) and try to decide whether I want soft skin, exfoliated skin, refreshed skin, or regular clear skin. My mind ponders... and then the cheapo part kicks in and I grab the cheapest option. But another dilemma crops up as I notice that another product that I've picked out is of a different brand, and suddenly I feel very brand unloyal. These companies spend so much money trying to get their customers to buy their necessities from the same brand and then I come along and ruin their plan, I feel terrible. But wait, I'm not going to be sucked in by their scheming action plans, I will defy them and employ my right to choose the brand that I want. So I do, and then I buy my usual deodorant that I have been buying for eons and my loyal customer worries are laid to rest.

And I've now got three different brands in my hand. And it would have been four but I restrained myself from grabbing the cartoon character bottles of bubble bath... because I take showers.

Opportunity to be part of an important piece of research

I've finally got down to doing some uni work this weekend, meaning that I've finished one complete assignment after asking my friend to read through it and comment, and boy did he comment. So I amended accordingly. And I also finished a PowerPoint presentation about the media systems in Samoa. 2 down and about 5 to go... ah well it's a start.

I'm not looking forward to proofreading and without a doubt amending a group assignment. Half of it is written in Minglish and needs to be translated. The other half is copied of some site that they found - aaaaa I hate that! So I'm giving myself the arduous task of giving it the final overview for the sake of a good grade.

And I've started my blogging assignment which I got myself into and am at a bit of a loss until I see it all coming together. And this is where I thrown in my sales pitch to anyone who can tell me WHY they blog. What are your favourite topics to blog about? Do you like receiving comments? Do you tell people about your blog? Why do you post your thoughts/events online for everyone to read? Those are just a few ideas but you can expand on them. And if you want to share my request to other bloggers feel free to do so :)

You can either leave a comment or if it's a long reply e-mail me at mailforg at gmail dot com

I don't think I'll be mentioning names unless you want me to :) And no cash form of payment will result as participation in my task, however, you have my sincere gratitude for your time.

And by the way... HAPPY EASTER to all

6 minutes isn't sex; it's a hard-boiled egg

I was offered another job this afternoon! From a company that I had sent a CV to over two months ago! But the guy who I spoke to had a really nice voice so I explained to him that taking up their offer would mean me giving up on sleeping, and I'm not that much of a workaholic - yet. I told him that I was at uni so he told me good luck and tried to ask again whether I'd be interested in giving them a try. Demand exceeding supply.

I told my lecturer this afternoon to expect e-mails from me during the Easter holidays regarding the task that we were given. The look on his face was a mixture of unease and despair *sigh*

You know that feeling when you have lots of things to do but you just don't know where to start from and the days keep slipping by, and the to do list keeps growing longer... I wish I didn't.

Sun worshipping

Finally the best reason for living in Malta has appeared... the sun! I love the sun, and believe that all true Maltese do so too. When you grow up with three months of summer holidays away from school and studies, the sun is linked to that freedom and therefore becomes a symbol of happiness.

People who like winter are just weird.

I started getting a suntan last Friday having decided that after remaining pasty white last year as a result of too much work, I was not going to allow it to happen again. So lunch in the sun was the perfect way to start tanning, and indeed I now have two red arms complete with sleeve marks and a red cleavage! Not quite the look I was going for but I guess it's a start! At least lunch was divine :)

Saturday was another opportunity to exploit the rays, but instead of just lounging in it, this time there was more energy spent with a walk from Balluta to Manoel Island and back. And this time also with the pre-planned dress code of a sleevless top to try and rid myself of those wretched sleeve marks. I think it may have worked slightly.

Last week of uni coming up before the Easter 'holidays', aka the time where you cram in as many assignments as possible. And as many chocolates as possible too :)
