I'm glad to see the back of 2006. It wasn't the best year unfortunately although it wasn't all bad... allahares! But it started off a bit shite and ended a bit shite, although it technically hasn't ended yet and up till now today has been an ok day. And there were a few shite bits in the middle and a few good bits too... such as crashing - Major Shite. Getting my MA Qual with good grades - Good Shite.
So yeah, a bit of a messy year all in all, but I'm hoping that 2007 will be better. More fulfilling, more inspirational, with more direction and more results. And my God I'm going to be 25 this year! Party!! Woo hoo :)

5 years, 9 months
Yesterday there was the 2nd Annual Bloggers Awards meal which was very fun although the coffee was shite! I got an honorary award for being cameraperson, which was initially a 'c' for cameraperson, but in typical G style, I changed it with a purple g - can it get any better than that?! Well done to all the winners :)
Apparently I am one of the people who's had an online presence the longest, and below was my first journal entry in Diaryland, which has about 4 years of entries! I then moved on to GJ and Blogger mainly because I knew people on GJ and certain benefits that you had to pay for on D'land were free on GJ - such as threaded commenting which is the best feature!

Hey peeps,
So...I've just signed up for this Diaryland site! I find it hard to keep my regular diary up to date! Now I have to do two!! Oh well...we'll see how it goes!
So...I guess I'll leave this as my first entry, just to see what it looks like...I'm still trying to figure out everything!!!
Later,
xxx.
Profound wasn't it?! Hahaha.

Frankfurt am Main
I'm back!!!
And I'm already back at work... hehe earning for my next holiday which I have decided I am not going to wait for two years to take!
Frankfurt was great. I love city life. I am a city girl through and through. I shopped so much that I visited the same shop three times because I couldn't buy everything in just one go! I came back with a 28kg suitcase. But I also did some sight-seeing, and was taken to (ok, I don't know how to spell the names) Heidelburg and Wiesbaden - two beautiful towns, with lovely Christmas markets, and perfect photo opportunities.
German food portions are huge! Good food but my God they can sure put it all away. Which leads to the clothes situation that I had to deal with being that German clothes don't fit me! Germans are tall and broad, I am short and curvy - all tops reached my knees! After 2 hours in one shop trying on about 20 tops and leaving with none, I stuck to the shops that I knew and ended up with 10 new tops, a coat, 2 pairs of trouers, a dress, brown boots, black shoe boots, Skechers, 3 bags, and 4 mugs!! I like crockery *sigh* Plus an assortment of gifts, including a rubber duck for my colleague who should have got me Dr Pepper from the UK - if he didn't get me Dr Pepper he's not getting Dr Quack.
It was a really nice break. I loved walking into the city in the morning crossing over the Main towards the skyscrapers and being part of the hustle and bustle! And then back again! I had an apartment just 15 minutes outside of the shopping centre so it was perfect. I couldn't understand what people were saying to me, but with a Dankeshein (sp?) and a smile you get by - plus they all speak English to some degree :)
And to end with a not-known-by-many fact - Germany is divided into 16 states with Frankfurt am Main being in the state of Hessen, but there is another Frankfurt up north in another state, called Frankfurt am (name of river) and it is actually the river that they are upon that differentiates them in name!

Frankfurt beckons
Temperature in Frankfurt today is 8 degrees - nice :)
It will then rapidly descend to an average of 3 degrees - ow!
I think I'm fully packed now. I hope I won't freeze! I realised that I didn't buy a map, but I'm hoping that Matt will have one for the three days when I shall be exploring Frankfurt solo. I've done my hair, now I shall wash, dress and wait patiently for the time to pass! Actually I should eat before I leave. But I'm getting plane food later... Mmmm :) I looovee plane food hahaha
See you all in a week. I don't think I shall bother with internet access whilst I'm there.

Killing stereotypes
I was told that if I could bottle my attitude and sell it, I'd be a very rich woman! Then again the same person told me that my role on earth is to balance out good! Hmmm! But if the person is still hanging out with me, then I guess it's not a bad thing! ;)
